 The collection of Indian Affairs and Laws and Treaties at Oklahoma State University is an excellent collection of primary sources. Oklahoma State University is a reliable source because many Native Americans were displaced and had to settle in what is Present Day Oklahoma. I would recommend it to my classmates.

    I think that's really interesting that Oklahoma State University have these sources. I took a look and the list of laws are really extensive.

    This is an excellent source for your paper. OSU has a comprehensive list of these treaties that will help explain your point. My suggestion is to find other sources similar to this one, maybe from the federal government.

                The main topic I am choosing is the Trail of Tears and other ways Native Americans were mistreated and abused by the United States for political and social gain. This is a good candidate for evaluation because the Native American treatment in schools is censored in our public education systems. An example of this censorship includes teaching thanksgiving as a peaceful interaction between pilgrims and Natives, when it was a violent one.  In secondary education such as middle and high schools, Native American history as a crucial part of American origins is glossed over for more glorifying events such as the Civil war or Revolutionary War. This makes our youth grow up with the sustained picture that America had a glorious and perfect origin.

      I found my sources using Proquest. I used keywords involving the words 'Native American' and 'Healthcare'. The sources that provide the underlying causes of healthcare inequity along with solutions to these inequities will be the most useful for my final paper.         I am choosing to write about Native Americans. I already know that Native Americans face inaccessible healthcare benefits due to poverty and their rural environment.
