      I am choosing to write about Native Americans. I already know that Native Americans face inaccessible healthcare benefits due to poverty and their rural environment. I plan to research more about causes towards their healthcare inequity and more on actions being taken to alleviate this inequity.

    I think it's good that you're considering the social factors that surround Native Americans and their struggle for getting healthcare.

    Native Americans do face lots of trouble getting quality healthcare. I think it would be a good idea to explain why they live in such rural conditions as the reservations are some of the least useful land in the country.

                The main topic I am choosing is the Trail of Tears and other ways Native Americans were mistreated and abused by the United States for political and social gain. This is a good candidate for evaluation because the Native American treatment in schools is censored in our public education systems. An example of this censorship includes teaching thanksgiving as a peaceful interaction between pilgrims and Natives, when it was a violent one.  In secondary education such as middle and high schools, Native American history as a crucial part of American origins is glossed over for more glorifying events such as the Civil war or Revolutionary War. This makes our youth grow up with the sustained picture that America had a glorious and perfect origin.

      I found my sources using Proquest. I used keywords involving the words 'Native American' and 'Healthcare'. The sources that provide the underlying causes of healthcare inequity along with solutions to these inequities will be the most useful for my final paper.
